Appointments and Promotions

Potential promotion candidates (those being considered for promotion to Associate Professor or Professor) are identified in October each year by the Division Director. Potential candidates must have their Division Director’s support. Once identified, potential candidates will receive specific instructions and deadlines from the DOP Faculty Development Office in October/November.

• Potential candidates submit their SOM formatted CV, Service Portfolio, Teaching Portfolio, and Personal Statement in late December/early January
• These documents are pre-reviewed by the DOP's Appointments and Promotions Committee. Potential Candidates and their division directors receive recommendations on moving forward or not, as well as feedback and fine-tuning suggestions on all of their documents
• Candidates reviewed and recommended to move forward will receive additional information and instructions along with the deadlines to submit final documents (including evaluator list, selected publications, along with documents submitted for pre-review)
• Candidates will also receive an invitation to a School of Medicine Packet Class designed exclusively for faulty moving forward in the cycle
