The Office of Equity and Inclusion is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture and climate in which all can thrive and achieve their full potential. In doing so, we enrich the health and well-being of our local, national, and global community. Our office drives progress toward strategic priorities, including awareness, learning, and growing; inclusive culture and climate; community engagement; and research and innovation.

Emory School of Medicine and our clinical sites have a responsibility to every patient who walks through our doors to provide compassionate care as we lead the effort to eliminate health inequities across the globe.

Together We Thrive Week

A school-wide celebration of the broad ranges of identities and experiences that make up our diverse community. The week offers lectures, breakout sessions, poster presentations and social activities.

Emory-led Lancet review highlights racial disparities in sudden cardiac arrest among athletes Dec. 2, 2024

A recent major review of data published by the Lancet and led by Emory sports cardiologist Jonathan Kim, MD, shows that Black athletes are approximately five times more likely to experience sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and sudden cardiac death (SCD) compared to White athletes.

A new study led by researchers at Emory University School of Medicine and Indiana University reveals that many older adults receiving primary care at federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) live with undiagnosed cognitive impairments, including mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia.
