Welcome! Emory Radiology is an internationally recognized leader in pioneering novel imaging techniques and technologies to diagnose and treat a wide range of health issues. Eleven clinical divisions provide diagnostic and therapeutic imaging to Emory Healthcare, Grady, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the VA Healthcare System. Emory is the largest academic health care center in Georgia and the only integrated academic health care system in the region leveraging the power of research to advance the quality of patient care.

We are at the forefront of training a new generation of imaging clinicians and researchers. Our residency and fellowship programs are top-ranked so we consistently attract the best and brightest to train with us. Our Bachelor of Medical Science in Imaging Technology program, one of only two in Georgia, is similarly recognized for the quality of its training.

Award-Winning Research Could Challenge a Deadly Health Disparity

A novel approach to imaging blood flow in the carotid artery shows a rare anomaly called carotid web impairs blood flow and significantly increases the risk of stroke. The work is so important, biomedical engineer Retta El Sayed took the top research prize at a recent international conference and landed on the cover of a prestigious scientific journal.

Innnovation in Motion

Georgia's Only 7T MRI Reveals Brain's Secrets

The new Health Sciences Research Building-II includes a 7 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner. Emory University is the first institution in Georgia to provide researchers like Emory Radiology's Candace Fleischer and her Biomedical Spectroscopy and Imaging Laboratory with access to this groundbreaking technology. In fact, only a handful of institutions in the entire U.S. have a 7T MRI.
