Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) for Agitation in Dementia (AD) (ECT-AD)
This study will explore the efficacy of ECT treatments plus usual care (ECT+UC), relative to a placebo simulated ECT plus usual care (S-ECT+UC) in reducing severe agitation in patients with moderate to severe dementia including Alzheimer's Disease, Vascular dementia, Frontotemporal dementia, and Dementia with Lewy Bodies. The study will also determine the tolerability/safety outcomes of ECT+UC relative to S-ECT+UC.

Myocardial Ischemia and Mental Stress (MIMS-2)
This study in collaboration with Department of Cardiology and Rollins School of Public Health is examining stress-related factors that contribute to heart disease. We are looking for patients with diagnosed heart disease to undergo a mental stress task, which involves public speaking and problem solving, to see how stress affects the heart. We look at blood biomarkers and do heart scans during the testing sessions.

The Police-Mental Health Linkage System
The aim of this randomized, controlled trial is to study the effectiveness of a potential new form of pre-arrest jail diversion for people with serious mental illnesses: the Police-Mental Health Linkage System. In the case of an encounter with a police officer, for half of the participants, during the background check, a message will notify the officer that the subject has mental health considerations. The notice contains a phone number of a provider working at the mental health clinic where the subject is receiving services, who can provide telephonic support to the officer. For the other half of participants, the message will not appear to the officers in the case of an encounter.
