Election to the National Academy of Medicine is considered one of the highest honors in health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.  

The first non-physician to lead an academic division of palliative medicine in the United States, Dio Kavalieratos, PhD also serves as the Director of Research for the Emory Palliative Care Center.

Kaplan receives 2025 Rising Star Award from Genomic Press June 2025

Dr. Deanna Kaplan received a 2025 Rising Star award from Genomic
Press for the development of the Fabla app. This is a competitive,
international award given to only a few scientists each year. In this

Emory Farmworker Project wins IPEC Excellence Award May 2025

The Excellence in Interprofessional Education Collaboration Award is presented by the US Public Health Service Commissioned Officers Foundation for the Advancement of Public Health and the Interprofessional Education Collaboraative to an interprofessional team of health professional students and/or faculty,
whose interdisciplinary work has significantly impacted the community they serve.
