Dr. Kim Thompson named Program Director July 2024

As the new Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Thompson brings over 10 years of resident education experience and has made a significant impact, including being recognized with a 2024 Outstanding Faculty award.  Known for her ability to engage learners, she emphasizes transparency and has a strong track record in educational leadership.

Dr. Dio Kavalieratos, Director of Research and Quality for the Division of Palliative Medicine, will lead a new 5-year, $3.1 million study titled "Patient-Centered Understanding of Quality of Life, Symptoms, and Health Equity in Cystic Fibrosis (PULSE-CF)."

Dr. Sara Turbow named Program Director September 2023

Sara Turbow, MD, MPH is the new program director for the Emory Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency and Fellowship Program. Dr. Turbow is an associate professor in the Division of Preventive Medicine and in the Division of General Internal Medicine (Department of Medicine). She has served as the associate program director since 2020 and is a core faculty member and director of the didactic curriculum for the Emory Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency and Fellowship Program. She is an attending at the Grady Primary Care Center.
