Past Fellows

FIRST fellows have proven to be highly competitive for academic positions. Over the last 21 years, our program's graduates have joined the faculty of several colleges and universities including minority-serving institutions such as Morehouse College, Spelman College, Albany State University, North Carolina Central University, Hampton, Morehouse School of Medicine and Clark Atlanta University.

Alumni have also joined the faculty of research-intensive universities including Emory University, Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, University of Florida, University of Colorado, Columbia, Auburn and VCU Medical Center. Other faculty placement locations include Kennesaw State University, San Jose State University, High Point University, James Madison University, Colgate University, Agnes Scott College, Georgia Gwinnett College, and College of Charleston. FIRST fellows have also been successful in positions in industry (i.e. Pfizer, Merck and Novartis) and government (i.e. the NIH, CDC and FDA).

Whatever career decided upon by our fellows, whether it is a faculty position, a job in industry or another administrative type position, our alumni return to participate in FIRST and IRACDA sponsored events and continue to contribute greatly to the exposure and education of FIRST fellows about possible careers.
