These are potential teaching mentors for FIRST fellows at the Atlanta University Center (AUC). The program facilitates the matching of fellows with teaching mentors during the spring of the fellows’ initial year in FIRST.
Fellows are encouraged to contact potential teaching mentors listed on their own. Since not all faculty at the AUC are considered appropriate teaching mentors for this program, only those faculty on the list or those approved in writing by a member of the FIRST Executive Committee as well as the proposed mentor’s Chairman should be contacted by FIRST fellows. FIRST will also arrange for fellows to visit institutions as a group. By mid-February, fellows and mentors will submit a list of their top three choices and, based on those lists, the optimal fellow-mentor match will be made.
The Atlanta University Center Consortium schools include: Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College.
