Radiology uniquely intersects with system-wide operations and decision-making in healthcare institutions, creating ample opportunities for radiologists to take on an increasing number of leadership roles. To leverage such career opportunities, radiology residents need business and leadership training.
The brainchild of diagnostic radiology residents and Adopt-A-Resident grantees Dr. Danika Baskar and Dr. Akongnwi Jungong Cheo, the BLAiR Track provides residents with the interdisciplinary training coupled with mentorship and experiential learning needed to prepare for leadership in and advocacy for today's healthcare systems.

Program Structure
Three Track Phases
The BLAiR Track is organized in three phases over four years:
Phase 1: Introductory
Residents acquire foundational knowledge and skills in business, leadership and policy.
Phase 2: Intermediate
Residents conceive and complete a capstone project plus coursework that integrates with the Emory School of Medicine's GME Healthcare Management Track.
Phase 3: Advanced
In this phase, residents apply and hone their skills by participating in advocacy efforts, manuscript writing, and ACR-RLI projects.
Each month, residents participate in a full academic day devoted to track work. Teaching strategies include didactic lectures and case discussions, journal club, guest lectures, mentoring, and project work. This includes work on the capstone project, which may be a group or individual project.
Mentorship and Collaboration
Collaboration is a central tenet of the BLAiR Track. The track pairs participating residents with mentors from both the department and the Emory Goizueta Business School to ensure a well-rounded experience.
Collaboration also means joint involvement with Emory University School of Medicine Graduate Medical Education Healthcare Management Track and the American College of Radiology's Radiology Leadership Institute (ACR-RLI).
The capstone project also may be a group or collaborative project, depending on the project scope and goals.

All residents in the BLAiR Track are expected to
