Our Commitment
As a department, we strive to foster a culture that leads in cutting-edge basic, translational and clinical research to further the ability to deliver quality health care, predict and treat cancer and promote the wellbeing of our patients and community.
To that end, we are committed to:
- Advance the early detection, treatment, and prevention of cancer with goals to eliminate health disparities
- Ensure the highest ethical and professional standards in all of our endeavors
- Foster culture of inclusion by commitment to advocacy, engagement, transparency and accountability
- Work closely and in-step with Emory School of Medicine, Office of Equity and Inclusion, Woodruff Health Sciences Center and throughout Emory to ensure continual alignment of goals, data and resource sharing, survey coordination and program integration
Department-Sponsored Programming
We invite our faculty and staff to convene together for Reflection Rounds. Reflection Rounds is a platform for interdisciplinary healthcare discussion in which meaningful patient interactions are highlighted. Reflection Rounds allow for opportunities to open the floor for discussion and sharing among all members to encourage positive change and impact.
Reflection Rounds take place 2-3 times a year and rotate among the various department sites. For faculty and staff interested in participating, be on the lookout for an email on upcoming Reflection Rounds as we host these events at each of our sites.
