Student Education

Launched in 2017, the Clinical Perspectives in Global Health elective introduces concepts of global health to interprofessional students during their pre-clinical years through didactic sessions, skills workshops, and relevant local/global experiences. Students from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and the undergraduate college participate in a semester long course and learn about the global burden of disease, global health ethics and social determinants of health. They build connections with fellow students and faculty for future collaboration in research and global health related projects. Three fantastic medical student teaching assistants aid in leading the class and build valuable networks for their own global health interests.
