Learn More about Observership Opportunities
Individuals interested in completing an observership in the Department of Pathology must first obtain sponsorship from an Emory Pathology faculty member. Prospective observers are encouraged to contact faculty members directly to inquire about sponsorship opportunities. An individual must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for an observership.
Observerships are typically approved for a duration of 14 days (approximately 2 weeks). The availability of observership opportunities is dependent on the availability of the faculty sponsor and departmental scheduling.
Once a faculty member agrees to serve as the sponsor, the applicant should initiate the observership request by emailing the Emory Healthcare Observership Office (observership.credentialing@emoryhealthcare.org) with the following information:
- Observer name
- Observer email address
- Anticipated observation dates
- Emory Healthcare faculty sponsor name
After the request is submitted, the Observership Office will contact the applicant with instructions to complete the required application and submit the required immunization documentation. The observership is not confirmed until all institutional requirements have been completed and approved. There may be a fee associated with aspects of the observership.
