Lifestyle medicine advocates for the use of healthy everyday choices and habits to achieve peak performance and well-being. The Emory General Internal Medicine faculty are committed to improving the lifestyle of Emory Healthcare patients and all individuals. We get to the root cause of disease by translating research into actionable self-care tools. Our program highlights five pillars of health:
Nutrition and culinary skills
Exercise and physical activity
Stress management techniques and mindfulness
Meaning and connectedness
Sleep

Project Summary: This project aims to assess the feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy of a virtually delivered Emory Healthy Kitchen Collaborative (EHKC) program, building upon the success of the in-person version. The goal is to create an effective and engaging virtual program format that can be scaled to reach a larger, diverse population, thereby expanding access to the program's behavioral and quality of life improvements demonstrated in the original EHKC.

Project Summary: The Emory Healthy Kitchen Collaborative (EHKC) was launched in 2019 as a one-year clinical trial for Emory employees, proving to be feasible, acceptable, and effective in improving health-related knowledge, behavior, and skills. The aim is to create a hybrid program delivered to patients and the community, evaluating its clinical impact and feasibility. This 12-month clinical trial will assess the deployment of video-recorded curriculum along with experiential classes led by health coaches at a community wellness center, potentially providing a cost-effective method for implementing a lifestyle behavior change program.
