You are invited to express your interest in serving on the following committees that represent the SOM commitment to improving the health of people who are medically underserved worldwide through faculty, staff, and trainee involvement in sustainable and equitable global health education, research, and clinical care partnerships.

Global Health Research Committee (NEW COMMITTEE)
Open Positions: Committee Chair, Committee Members
Term: 2 Years – Starting in Jan 2024
Eligibility: Emory University School of Medicine Faculty, Staff, Residents, and Fellows
Mission: This is a new committee for 2024 that will be able to define the mission, goals, and objectives of the committee. This committee has been created to support global health researchers in high-quality global health research done at the SOM and foster interdisciplinary global health research collaborations.
Guiding Principles and Best Practices Committee
Open Positions: Committee Chair, Committee Members
Term: 2 Years – Starting in Jan 2024
Eligibility: Emory University School of Medicine Faculty, Staff, Residents and Fellows
Mission: The workgroup aims to develop guiding principles and best practices for global health engagement and partnerships that emphasize equity and social justice.
Global Health Education Committee
Open Positions: Committee Members
Term: 2 Years – Starting in Jan 2024
Eligibility: Emory University School of Medicine Faculty, Staff, Residents and Fellows
Mission: To provide multidisciplinary and collaborative foundational global health education background to graduate and undergraduate medical trainees and faculty members.
Global Health Engagement Committee
Open Positions: Committee Chair, Committee Members
Term: 2 Years – Starting in Jan 2024
Eligibility: Emory University School of Medicine Faculty, Staff, Residents and Fellows
Mission: Foster faculty, staff, and trainee global health engagement across departments and disciplines. Catalyze interdisciplinary global health collaborations. Provide global health faculty development opportunities. Monitor SOM global health activities and disseminate accomplishments in global health to the Emory Community.
Local-Global Engagement Committee
Open Positions: Committee Members
Term: 2 Years – Starting in Jan 2024
Eligibility: Emory University School of Medicine Faculty, Staff, Residents and Fellows
Mission: To improve and advocate for the health and well-being of immigrant and refugee communities in the greater Atlanta area through equitable partnership between multi-disciplinary faculty, healthcare providers, other academic institutions, community & faith-based organizations, legal organizations, and local government.
