Emory School of Medicine (SOM) curricular events are closed to the public.
In certain cases, Emory SOM will allow guests to attend specific curricular events by invitation only for educational purposes. Guests will not be allowed to attend curricular events that involve interaction with patients.
Students, faculty or staff who would like to invite a person or persons to a curricular event should request permission from the Associate Dean for Medical Education/Chair of the Executive Curriculum Committee. The request should include the nature of the event, the names of the guests, and the rationale for the invitation.
Any guests attending curricular events must adhere to the same professional standards and codes of conduct expected of students and faculty members. Guests must respect the confidentiality and privacy of students, faculty, and other individuals involved in the educational activities. Disruptive behavior or disrespectful conduct towards presenters or fellow attendees will not be tolerated. Any concerns regarding guest behavior should be reported to the appropriate faculty or staff member for resolution.
Emory SOM reserves the right to deny entry to or remove any guest who violates this policy or poses a risk to the safety or well-being of others. Failure to comply with this policy may result in sanctions, including but not limited to revocation of guest privileges, disciplinary action, or legal consequences as applicable.
