As an MD student in the EUSOM, there may be times during your academic career that the university and/or community experiences an emergency situation. It is important that you are aware of the notification systems that you will need to have to receive the most up-to-date information in case of an emergency.
CEPAR (Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response)
The Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR) serves as the center for Emory enterprise-wide planning for and coordinated response to catastrophic events affecting Emory and the broader community. Learn more about CEPAR.
Emergency Notification System
The Emory Emergency Notification program is a multi-modal system for alerting students, staff, faculty and visitors of an emergency affecting the Emory community. The wide array of notification options affords Emory the flexibility to convey emergency information in the most appropriate manner and provides redundancy to help ensure the message gets out. Not all emergencies require all of the notification components to be engaged simultaneously.
Students can access the Emergency Alert Information page by logging into OPUS or PeopleSoft. Students should enter their cell phone number and provider information. Students should be sure to update their information if changes to cell phone number or mobile carrier occur.
EmorySafe App
EmorySafe is a personal safety mobile app that Emory University provides to all students, faculty, and staff to download for free. The app provides a quick, convenient, and discreet way to communicate directly with Emory University safety officials, enhancing your overall safety and allowing Emory University Police to better protect you. We encourage all students to download the EmorySafe App.
Grady App
The Grady App is a personal safety mobile app that Grady Health System provides to all students, faculty, and staff. All students will have access to the Grady App. The Office of Clinical Education (Student Affairs) at Grady will help students sign up for this app before students rotate clinically at Grady.
