Emory Sports Medicine Journal Club
Monthly lecture or journal article review starting in September and runs through the end of June. This takes place the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Participants include AT residents, attending MDs, MD fellows, orthopaedic residents, physical therapists and ATs from local colleges and high schools.
Emory Sports Medicine Grand Rounds
Monthly lecture or journal article review starting in August and runs through the end of June. This occurs the 1st Tuesday of each month. Participants include AT residents, attending MDs, MD fellows, orthopaedic residents, physical therapists and ATs from local colleges and high schools. A variety of sports medicine topics are covered and conservative treatment methods are discussed along with patient outcomes.
Orthopaedic Grand Rounds
Weekly orthopaedic lecture that is attended by ortho surgical residents and AT residents. A variety of orthopaedic surgical techniques are discussed along with surgical outcomes. Lectures are led by both attending physicians within the department and by visiting physicians. This occurs Friday mornings from 6:30-7:30am from September through June.
AT Resident Didactic Hour
Intimate didactic session attended solely by AT residents. A variety of orthopaedic/sports medicine topics are discussed. Talks will typically include radiology review, case review, article discussion, surgical technique and outcomes. Journal articles may be sent out in advance for preparation. Occurs each Wednesday.
Annual Conferences
AT residents are invited to attend the Annual Emory Sports Medicine Symposium. They are also given the opportunity to attend the ATPPS Annual Conference.
Case Study Presentations
AT residents are required to present two case studies throughout their year of residency. They will work closely with their physicians and present to attending MDs, orthopaedic residents, and MD fellows.
Scholarship
AT residents are required to select a research topic or quality improvement project over the course of their residency year. They will present the work they have completed towards the project at the end of the residency year.
