Emory Health Services Research Center Membership Model
By joining the Emory Health Services Research Center (HSR), you gain access to a wide network of stakeholders who are interested in health services research, including research that focuses on access to care, outcomes of care, processes and structures of care, and quality of healthcare delivery.
The Emory HSR Center has two levels of participation, including 1) HSR members and 2) HSR affiliates. It is with the help of our members and affiliates that we are able to conduct rigorous research to impact health and disseminate innovative and transformative research findings to the communities we serve.
HSR MEMBERS
Members must have an Emory affiliation or appointment and be involved with health services research. They are asked to participate in center activities that are designed to support the growth of the health services research community at Emory and in the Southeast and are offered a suite of member services to bolster their own health services research activities.
MEMBER EXPECTATIONS
- Attend seminars
Additionally, members are asked to participate in at least one of the following annually:
- Mock study sections
- Internal grant review
- Student and trainee mentorship
- Plan and attend HSR Day, including submitting abstracts and encouraging students/trainees to submit

- Project support
- Policy translation
- Communication and dissemination
HSR AFFILIATES
HSR Affiliates are invited to participate in Center activities including:
- Seminars
- Training opportunities
- HSR Day and other community events
- Training and internal funding opportunities
- Research consultation

HOW TO BECOME AN HSR MEMBER OR AFFILIATE
We accept new member applications on a rolling basis. Please SUBMIT your CV, a statement of your HSR activities (around 100 words), and three words describing your research interest. Center leadership will evaluate applications monthly for departmental/school affiliation, active health services research, areas of research interest and fit within the Center, and mentorship activities. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. You’ll be notified by email about your membership.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
HSR members will be asked to renew membership every two years. This is an administrative function to ensure Center membership remains active and engaged.
