About the Conference
The 2nd Annual Georgian Seminar on Poisoning and Trauma Injury Prevention and Care took place at the Caucasus Medical Center in Tbilisi, Georgia July 25-26, 2024. Dr. Ziad Kazzi, Co-Director of the Emory Emergency Medicine's Center for Advanced Emergency Care (CAEC), organized the conference with the Caucasus Medical Center, the University of Georgia, and the Georgian Emergency Medicine Physician Association (GEMPA). The CAEC Level 3 program participant, Dr. Otar Dikhaminjia was the co-chair of the conference along with Prof. Amiran Gamkhrelidze (the University of Georgia), Dr.George Gotsadze (President of GEMPA) and Dr. Nino Butkhikridze (board member of GEMPA and Faculty Member of the Georgian American University).
The Clinical Toxicology and Trauma themes are core components of the Center for Advanced Emergency Care’s mission and objectives. This partnership builds on decades of collaboration between Emory University and the Republic of Georgia in emergency medicine, public health, environmental health, and infectious diseases. We will continue to strive to positively impact the public health of Georgians through deep and meaningful partnerships that implement locally relevant and driven solutions and strategies.
