Overview
Launched in 2025, the Division of Breast Surgery at the Department of Surgery represents a new and growing commitment to advancing the science and practice of breast surgery. Led by Tari A. King, MD, the division unites Emory’s strengths in surgical oncology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, medical and radiation oncology, and genetics. Together, this multidisciplinary team is building a comprehensive program that integrates leading-edge surgical techniques, collaborative research, and patient-centered care.
In addition to its clinical mission, the division is dedicated to discovery and education. Faculty are actively engaged in innovative research aimed at improving outcomes in breast cancer and related diseases, while also serving as mentors for medical students, residents, and fellows. Through a combination of expertise, innovation, and training, the Division of Breast Surgery is positioned to shape the future of breast surgery and strengthen Emory’s role as a leader in academic medicine.
