Symposium Talk
Olivia Mistretta, Neuroscience graduate student in the Alvarez lab, was selected to give a talk at the “Motor control -spinal circuits and beyond” international symposium in St. Andrews Scotland in June of 2023. The talk was entitled “Roles of Foxp2-V1 spinal interneurons in limb coordination during neonatal air-stepping.”

New Award
Tana Sue Pottorf, Neuroscience graduate student in the Alvarez lab, was awarded a 3yr F31 through NIH NINDS titled, "Microglia Activity on Injured Motoneurons." This grant will fund Ms. Pottorf's dissertation project investigating microglia-motoneuron interactions and cellular signaling mechanisms that may govern motoneuron fate and stretch reflex loss after peripheral nerve injury.
