Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT)
Since its inception, the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) has engaged in advocacy efforts to improve access to quality palliative care services for children and families in Georgia and the Southeast region. In working collaboratively with the Georgia Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (GHPCO), PACT hosts an annual forum to improve educational and networking opportunities for community hospices throughout the state providing pediatric care. In turn, PACT has worked in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Community Health to improve the operations of the Concurrent Care Provision within the state.
We remain attuned to local and federal legislation that may impact the availability of hospice and palliative care services to our patients and engage with Children's Government Relations, the Georgia Cancer Control Consortium (GC3) Palliative Care Working Group, Department of Public Health, and national organizations such as the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) and the American Academy of Pediatrics’ (AAP) Section on Hospice and Palliative Medicine to elevate the voices of our patients and families accordingly.
