Thank you for considering the Interventional Pulmonary (IP) Fellowship at Emory University. We are excited to introduce you to a training experience that will prepare you to excel in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Interventional Pulmonology. Throughout this one-year program, you will be exposed to a wide range of complex pulmonary, airway, and pleural diseases, working alongside our dedicated team of five formally trained interventional pulmonologists.
During your fellowship year, you will participate in over 2,000 procedures across multiple hospital settings, including Emory University Hospital, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Grady Memorial Hospital, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Our fellowship offers a comprehensive approach, blending hands-on experience with active participation in multidisciplinary conferences, such as the Thoracic Oncology Tumor Board, Complex Airway Conference, and Interstitial Lung Disease Conference. These opportunities will ensure you gain the skills and knowledge necessary to manage challenging cases and set the foundation for a successful academic career in interventional pulmonary.
In addition to your clinical training, you will engage in research, with the expectation of completing at least one original project and presenting it at a national meeting. We are committed to providing the support you need to succeed, whether you are aiming to join or establish an academic or private interventional pulmonary program.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We look forward to the possibility of having you join our program and are excited to help you develop into a leader in the field of interventional pulmonary medicine. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions—we’re here to help.
