While rotating in medically underserved areas across the American South, I was inspired by the role that Family Medicine physicians play in improving the health of communities. I am drawn to this field for its broad scope of practice and its unique ability to meet the diverse medical needs of a population. I look forward to developing a wide range of clinical skills, both outpatient and inpatient, to better serve my community. Most of all, I am excited for the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients of all ages and backgrounds, as these connections are essential to helping people live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I chose Emory Family Medicine because it offers a rigorous clinical training that aligns with my professional goals and provides a positive learning environment. This program offers strong inpatient and outpatient experiences across world-class hospitals and various clinical settings. I was also drawn to the ample elective opportunities, which will allow me to explore my niche clinical interests and strengthen my procedural skills. My interest in academic medicine led me to seek a program like Emory, with its extensive teaching and research experiences. After meeting the faculty and residents, I felt confident that this program not only supports my professional development, but also fosters a positive culture rooted in shared values for community engagement and advocacy.
