I chose family medicine because it aligns with my personality and values. Growing up in a city inhabited by indigenous ethnic groups taught me about social and cultural differences and allowed me to develop empathy early in life. Family medicine allows me to establish meaningful long-term relationships and provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages. Additionally, family medicine is exciting. I enjoy the unexpected challenges that arise from caring for patients with diverse backgrounds, conditions, and diseases, and I like the balance between preventive and curative medicine.
I chose Emory Family Medicine for several reasons that align with my professional aspirations and personal values. The program’s excellence in medical education and patient care, and its focus on addressing not just the physical but also the emotional and social aspects of patient well-being perfectly align with my vision of practicing medicine. Additionally, the collaborative and supportive learning environment fosters a sense of camaraderie among residents and faculty, creating an ideal setting for professional growth and development.
