I chose Family Medicine because of the awesome opportunity to care for people of all ages and from all walks of life. What a privilege it is to be a part of many (if not all) chapters of a person’s life and to know them, not only as patients, but as people. My interests are so varied and family medicine allows me to explore them because of its versatility.
Emory Family Medicine captured my heart and mind for so many reasons. Everyone is so warm and welcoming and I felt that from my first interaction with them throughout the end of my sub-internship. There is a culture here that fosters education, diversity, and inclusiveness as well as uplifting each person involved. I really wanted to be at a program where I would be encouraged to ask questions, be challenged, and be a part of a genuine group. I love that Emory has such diverse training locations and the encouragement for residents to explore their interests. There is a strong foundation in both clinic and hospital training – the world is your oyster here. I also wanted to be in a diverse city that I could explore and go on adventures in. When I envision the kind of physician I want to be, I see myself as one that my patients and their families want to be seen by and feel secure in. At Emory Family Medicine, I know this is the place where I will continue to develop my skills and knowledge while also continuing to advocate for patients. I am so happy to be here!
