Throughout medical school, I kept an open mind when exploring specialties, but it was not until my third year that I discovered Family Medicine was the specialty that resonated the most with who I am as a person and my interests. The versatility that a Family Medicine physician has is what attracted me the most. I love being challenged and staying up to date with pathology that affects children, adults, the elderly, and pregnant mothers. Not only that, but also, the variety of career options ranging from outpatient to hospital to academia, and the variety of procedures performed allows this kind of physician to help not only the patient, but also the family unit. I am excited to become a Family Medicine physician in order to be a healer, coach, educator, and advocate for all of my future patients and families!
The Emory Family Medicine Residency Program attracted me the most because it aligns with the training that I was looking for to fulfill my goal. My goal is to be competent and confident in broad scope family medicine where I treat and manage the whole age range. I also want to incorporate procedures in my practice. From the moment that I interviewed at Emory, I knew that I could achieve my training goal while also being part of a team that I can call family. Obtaining high-caliber training and caring for a diverse patient population in the capital of the south made Emory the right decision for me!
