I chose to complete my family medicine training at Emory because I believed the program’s culture inspired both professional and personal success. With aspirations to enter academic medicine, I appreciated the diversity of patients and pathology I would encounter at EUHM and Grady. Similarly, the program’s close ties to the medical school offer opportunities to engage in medical student education and scholarly projects.
In true community medicine spirit, there are multiple ways to serve the Atlanta community, ranging from farmworker health opportunities to free clinics. At each of my encounters with the residents and faculty, the emphasis on wellbeing and mentorship was strikingly evident. For all these reasons, I am incredibly grateful to call this program my ‘home away from home’ for the next three years.
