Zakia Jabarkheel, DO

I chose family medicine because I appreciate the continuity and vast scope of care provided to patients. I am passionate about developing connections based on inclusivity and understanding with patients from all walks of life. Family medicine is a unique field in that we are able to holistically evaluate and treat our patients through medicine and counseling. I am excited to work in this specialty and contribute to progress within the realm of preventative medicine.
 
I chose to pursue residency at Emory specifically because I resonated with the mission and values of the program. This program fosters opportunities for involvement and advocacy in the community whilst working with diverse populations. Additionally, with being a large academic center, the caliber of medical training and resources for meaningful research are unmatched. I felt confident that the skills and support I would receive in this program would help me feel empowered as a physician.
