I chose family medicine because it is a specialty that allows me to treat anyone that walks through the door. From children to the elderly, I’ll be trained to serve them all. Family medicine physicians have the unique opportunity to care for an entire family and be a part of their life journey. It is also a specialty that puts an emphasis on preventive care, which is important to me. Additionally, I love the privilege of being able to follow my patients’ health over time, aid in shared health decision-making, and guide my patients through the healthcare system should they need it.
I chose Emory Family Medicine for several reasons. First, I was born and raised in Georgia, and I want to continue serving the state that I call home. I also love how comfortable I feel with everyone in the program. My ability to continue growing into the best physician I can be is reliant on the support of those around me and I felt right at home during my visit to the program. Emory also provides training at some of the best facilities and allows access to countless learning opportunities. The experience and education that Emory provides can’t be duplicated.
