I decided to become a family physician because I wanted a practice that allowed me to establish long-term relationships with my patients. I also wanted to pursue a specialty that cared about the patients as a whole human beings, with social, economic, and emotional realities that were equally important at the moment to decide which management is best for a disease.
Of the many Family Medicine Residency programs out there, I chose Emory because working with underserved and diverse populations is very important to me. I also wanted to train in a setting that provided the opportunity to see a wide spectrum of diagnoses. And, to add extra points, is one direct flight away from home.
