I chose Family Medicine because I enjoy caring for diverse individuals. You can learn much by spending time with patients from different walks of life. I also enjoy developing longitudinal relationships with my patients and joining them in an individualized journey towards optimized health. What a privilege! As someone passionate about alleviating health disparities, I am excited to join a field that allows me to promote preventive care, address healthcare barriers, and actively advocate for the healthcare needs of my patients.
I chose Emory Family Medicine for multiple reasons. Mostly, I desired to be in a program that valued diversity as much as I do. I loved that Emory had diverse faculty, diverse residents, and a diverse patient population. I also enjoyed my interview day and felt very at home with the residents and faculty I had the opportunity to interact with. I was amazed at how thorough and balanced the curriculum was and excited that the curriculum included ample opportunity to explore my interests through elective time.
