My desire to pursue Family Medicine ultimately stems from my passion for health equity and my desire to care for diverse populations from all ages and walks of life, especially those traditionally marginalized by the larger healthcare system. Family Medicine as a field allows me to build meaningful long-term connections with my patients and their families while also advocating for their rights and uplifting their voices. Whether that be educating an expectant parent on the importance of prenatal care or working with social services to care for a vulnerable child in a difficult environment, it is my goal to cultivate safe and inclusive spaces where all my patients feel heard and respected.
The Family Medicine program at Emory truly embodies the values I felt were most important when searching for a residency program. I recognized that training at Emory would allow me to become a competent and well-rounded physician while learning from a diverse community of faculty and colleagues who value culturally competent care and community engagement. Additionally, the compassion and warmth with which the program welcomed me has truly made me feel at home. I look forward to exploring the beautiful city of Atlanta while growing and learning from everyone at Emory and the communities we serve.
