Emory EM Observership Policy
Emory Emergency Medicine embraces the role of academic leadership and understands the value of allowing observers to experience the team's clinical practice. Observers may not participate in patient care and must be sponsored by an Emory Emergency Medicine faculty member who will be responsible for their experience.
Once an observership is approved by the department, potential observers must also undergo an approval and badging process with the hospital. This process may take several months to complete, and it is subject to fees and calendar blackout periods, depending on hospital policy. For more information on the requirments at Emory Healthcare and Grady Memorial Hospital, learn more on Emory's Pre-Health Advising webpage under the shadowing section.
