Dr. John W. Calvert received his Ph.D. in Physiology from Loma Linda University in 2006. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in basic cardiovascular physiology under the direction of Dr. David J. Lefer, Ph.D. at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In 2008, Dr. Calvert moved to Emory University and established his lab in the Department Surgery as part of the Carlyle Fraser Heart Center. In 2025, he joined the Department of Biochemistry. He also serves as the Senior Director of Graduate Studies for the Molecular and Systems Pharmacology Graduate Program at Emory University.
