The department recognizes the importance of diversity and is dedicated to continuing to engage, educate, and explore the many challenges that we all face daily. It is in the spirit of advancement and change, that we are excited to announce the formation of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for the Department of Anesthesiology.

Mission Statement: Celebrating Differences Together

To acknowledge and value the voices of all, irrespective of race,
religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender expression,
or culture.
To highlight and educate on the health disparities of minority groups,
while working to improve care for our diverse patient population
in a culturally sensitive manner.
To maintain an atmosphere of acceptance, respect,
and freedom of expression while providing excellent patient care.
To encourage open and honest dialogue for the unique life experiences
of diverse groups, that facilitate increased understanding and
appreciation for our patients, colleagues, and community.
