Dear Emory at Grady Community
On behalf of the Emory Flourishing at Grady Committee, we are honored to recognize Health Workforce Wellbeing Day with all of you. This day serves as a meaningful reminder of something we already know deeply: our ability to care for others depends on our ability to care for ourselves.
Your well-being matters — not only for the essential work you do every day, but for your sense of joy, meaning, and connection. In the fast-paced, high-stakes environment in which we work, it is easy to set aside our own needs. Yet sustaining a sense of purpose, belonging, and community is vital to flourishing - both individually and collectively.
One of the most tangible ways we can support your wellbeing is by ensuring your access to healthy nutritious food. For our health workforce, nourishment is not a luxury – it is essential. Consistent access to healthy food supports not only individual health, but also team functioning, morale, and long-term workforce sustainability.
In response to your input, one key emphasis for the Emory Flourishing at Grady Committee in 2026 is expanding the availability of healthy and nutritious food to support employee wellbeing.
The launch of the Emory at Grady Grocery (EGG) at FOB represents an important step toward improving access to nourishing options for our workforce—across roles, schedules, and shift types.
As a small gesture of appreciation, and in the spirit of Health Workforce Wellbeing Day, members of our committee will be sharing healthy snacks with colleagues throughout the day (March 18, 2026). We hope these offerings provide a moment of care, nourishment, and connection amid busy schedules.
We hope today serves as a reminder to pause, nourish yourself, connect with others, and reflect on the meaning of the work you do. Caring for patients and communities begins with caring for those who show up every day with compassion, skill, and heart.
Thank you for all that you do—for our patients, for each other, and for this community. We are deeply grateful for the dedication and humanity you bring to Emory at Grady.
With appreciation,
The Emory Flourishing at Grady Committee
