The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage for medical students and emphasizes humanism in medicine. During this traditional ceremony, a white coat is placed on each student’s shoulders signifying their entrance into the medical profession. The ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate first-year medical students at Emory University School of Medicine.

Class of 2029 Ceremony
Family and friends will learn more about the experiences and daily life of their medical students through speakers and presentations. Most importantly, witness as students take their first symbolic step in the practice of medicine. Tickets are required for the in-person ceremony. Please email if special accommodations are needed for you to attend in-person.
