Emory School of Medicine has a peer tutoring program available at any time during your educational journey. You can request a session using the 5 easy steps below.
Step 1: Let us know you are interested
Submit a tutor request form. Provide us your information, the course or concept you would like help with, and any specific requests you may have.
Please note: Depending on the nature of your request, you will likely be asked to also meet with Dr. Hairston to ensure we are holistically approaching your study challenges with tutoring being one of many possible interventions.
Step 2: Tutor Matching Process
Based on your request, we will match you via e-introduction.
Step 3: Connect
Once you are matched with a tutor, you will be able to schedule a 1-hour session that works for you both (in-person is preferred but Zoom is permissible). Students are responsible for all room reservations. Make sure that you are clear on what you need from the tutor and communicate those needs.
Step 4: Engage in Tutoring Session
Come prepared, ask questions, identify gaps in knowledge, and learn from a different perspective.
Step 5: Provide Feedback
Let us know how it went. Did the session help? What worked well and what didn’t? You’re asked to submit a short assessment after every session.
