HeLP is a medical legal partnership (MLP) whose partners are Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Georgia State University College of Law and Atlanta Legal Aid Society. A MLP provides the environment for healthcare professionals and lawyers to work together to help patients and their families with legal issues. HeLP is a free service to eligible families. You do not need a referral from a doctor, social worker, or hospital staff to reach out to HeLP.
Who Can Get HeLP?
- Child must be seen at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta or any affiliated institution (for example: Marcus Autism Center, Rehab, Urgent Care, Emergency Department, Children’s Integrated Network)
- Family must be ≤ 200% Federal Poverty Level; and
- Your legal problem is the kind that we handle.

If your issue is not listed here, we may still be able to help you. All you have to do is ask us. There are some things HeLP cannot do for you, but we may be able to refer you to other people who can help.
How Do I Get HeLP?
- Call us at 404-785-2005. Please leave a message with your name, phone number, and why you are calling. We will call you back.
- Complete an application. This can be done over the phone or in-person.
- Send in any paperwork that the HeLP staff asks for.
