Sushma Boppana, MD, PhD

Sushma grew up in Birmingham, AL. She studied cellular and molecular biology at Vanderbilt before getting her MD/PhD from the University of Alabamaat Birmingham. She then moved to Los Angeles where she completed pediatric residency at UCLA. She is interested in T-cell immunology with a focuson responses to vaccines and viral infections.
Ronke Olowojesiku, MD, MPH

Dr. Ronke Olowojesiku grew up outside of Atlanta in the northern metro suburbs and received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Georgia (go dawgs!) and the Medical College of Georgia, respectively. While at MCG, she completed a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, working on projects centered on global health epidemiology. She completed her pediatric residency in Washington, DC at Children's National Hospital, where she stayed afterward as a primary care pediatrician and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Throughout these different phases, however, Ronke has held on to her love of infectious diseases and public health. She is excited to return home to Atlanta to begin a new chapter as a pediatric ID fellow. Her current academic interests are in host responses to vaccines, vaccine hesitancy, and public and global health.

Kristen Buehne, MD

I grew up in St. Louis, MO, where my mom taught music (grades K-5) and my dad sold street sweepers. I moved to Durham, NC for college, and stayed throughout medical school for the community, opportunities, and southern food! I then traveled west for residency in Salt Lake City, UT, where I discovered both mountains and my love for infectious disease. I am excited for my next move to Atlanta and am currently interested in congenital infections and antibiotic stewardship.

Dr. Witkowski grew up in Bolton, MA. He majored in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology at Boston University before receiving his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He graduated from Indiana University Pediatric Residency prior to starting fellowship at Emory. He enjoys hiking, film photography, and hanging out with his two rescue cats, Norbert & Nimbus.

Sallie Lin, MD

Dr. Sallie Lin grew up in Vicksburg, MS. She has majored in Biological Engineering with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering and minored in Chemistry at Mississippi State University. She received her Medical Degree at University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2021, and graduated from Pediatric Residency at University of Florida in 2024. Being passionate for medical education, she studied and completed a Certificate in Graduate Instructional Design at University of Florida during her Residency. She aspires to incorporate her artistic talents in the 2024-2027 fellowship program in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Emory University, Georgia.
