The residency application process
To begin the application, log into San Fransisco Match (SF Match), the residency and fellowship matching service. Applications should be made through the Central Application System.
Plan to submit a CAS application by the deadline stated in the CAS. Emory Eye Center does not establish or change these deadlines. Match results will be published on January 29, 2026.
Where appropriate, applicants should familiarize themselves with the Requirements for Foreign Medical School Graduates. All international medical graduates (IMGs) should submit certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
The candidate interview process
Candidates who are invited to virtual interviews will have the opportunity to hear a detailed overview of the eye center residency program, given by the director and chair. They will be able to meet with a range of faculty across subspecialities. Following the interview, there will be an open house weekend to which all interviewees are invited to attend. During the open house weekend, residents will have the opportunity to tour the eye center and to meet and speak with current residents.
All candidates are encouraged to bring questions to the interview process. The Selection Committee views this as an opportunity to build a team that will support and challenge us - and each other - over the course of a very demanding and rewarding training program.
