Steven Sloan earns 2025 Provost's Distinguished Teaching Award

MARCH 2025
At this year's Commencement, Steven Sloan, MD, PhD, is scheduled to receive the 2025 Provost's Distinguished Teaching Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Education. The award recognizes outstanding scholars who excel as teachers within formal and informal educational settings. One faculty member in each of Emory's seven graduate and professional schools is given the award each year; his comes through Laney Graduate School.
Dr. Sloan's nomination cites his recent leadership of a task force redesigning the Neuroscience graduate program's curriculum, along with his supervision of courses in professional development, journal club, and RNA-seq analysis, and his mentorship of graduate students, undergraduates, and post-doctoral fellows.
