Sadie Eggmann grew up in Chesterfield, Missouri, a suburb outside of St. Louis. She graduated with honors from the University of Iowa in May of 2023 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Philosophy. While at Iowa, she was a research assistant at the Iowa NeuroBank Core where she maintained neurofibroblast cells, sliced and imaged post-mortem human brain tissue, and presented a poster of an independent research project. Sadie additionally completed a summer psychology program in Vienna, Austria, where she lived and took classes for two months.
After graduation, Sadie moved to Colorado to work as a Research Services Professional at the CU Anschutz Department of Neurology. She worked on industry sponsored clinical trials and investigator initiated observational studies to further research on Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), Autoimmune Encephalitis (AIE), and Myasthenia Gravis (MG). She has contributed to several research publications and worked as the primary coordinator on a CAR-T cell therapy trial for antibody-positive Stiff Person Syndrome. She had the opportunity to connect with AIE doctors and researchers at the Encephalitis International conference 2025 in London, where she presented a poster on LGI1 AIE research. Sadie has volunteered with the World Encephalitis Day Alliance and SPS Research Foundation to help conduct their 2026 conferences in Denver.
In her free time, Sadie enjoys hiking, camping, crocheting, going to concerts, and spending time with her cat, Penny. She loves to travel and is excited to discover all that Atlanta has to offer. She is very grateful to be joining the GCTP class of 2028 at Emory! Sadie is open to connecting with prospective students who are interested in learning more about Emory or the GCTP application process.
