ABGC Certification Exam

Over the last three graduating classes (2023, 2024, 2025), 79.4% or 27/34 of Emory graduates passed the certification exam on their first try and 97% (31/32) passed by their second attempt.
- The overall national pass rate during this time frame was 76%.
Job Placement
- 91% (20/22) of 2024 and 2025 graduates were hired for a genetic counseling position within three months of graduation.
- As of June 2026, 75% (9/12) of the class of 2026 are employed in the genetic counseling profession.

Attrition Rate
- For the past three graduating classes (2024, 2025, 2026), the attrition rate was 3% or 1/36.
