
Manaswini Krishnakumar grew up in Chennai, India, and she graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology in 2022. After graduating she worked as a Genetic Counseling Assistant in Neuberg Center for Genomic Medicine(NCGM) in Chennai. At NCGM she worked in coordinating genetic testing for patients from underprivileged backgrounds and worked on genetic counseling data and research.
Through shadowing and interviewing genetic counselors- she developed a deep interest for this field. Outside of work she volunteered in BroadStreet where she worked on community health needs data entry where she learned about health disparities and needs.
She is excited to have the opportunity to explore museums and restaurants in Atlanta. She enjoys reading nonfiction and binge-watching sitcoms whenever she has the time. She is thrilled to be a member of the Emory GCTP class of 2026 and would love to answer any questions prospective students may have.
