Tatum Scholl grew up in Holly Springs, NC. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2021 with a double major in Biology and Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. During undergrad, she worked with UNC Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism and realized how much she enjoyed working in the field of genetics. Between working on clinical trials and interning with genetic counselors, she was able to learn about a variety of genetic conditions such as mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS), phenylketonuria (PKU), and Fabry disease.
After graduating from UNC, Tatum worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator with UNC Cardiology, where she explored the field of cardiovascular genetics by caring for patients with hereditary cardiac amyloidosis and shadowing in the cardiovascular genetics' clinic. Outside of work, she spent time volunteering with GiGi's Playhouse, Carolina for the Kids, and her local domestic violence hotline.
In her free time, Tatum enjoys running, tailgating at football games, and spending time with family. She is very excited to be a part of the Emory GCTP! As someone who had to apply to GC programs more than once, she is happy to answer questions from any prospective students.
