Rahma Ali grew up in Northern Virginia. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2018 and went back to do her Master's in Biomedical Science in 2020.
After graduating she went to work as a genetic counseling assistant at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the Epilepsy Neurogenetics Initiative department (ENGIN). During her time at ENGIN she helped create a handbook for GCA workflow, managed clinics for other departments, consented patients for a research project, and conducted a data collection study on the research pipeline recruitment in the neurology department at CHOP.
In her free time, Rahma enjoys discovering new places to explore in Atlanta, spending quality time with friends and family, and going on spontaneous adventures. She is very passionate about mentoring the future generations of STEM and giving back to her community. Rahma is honored to be a member of the Emory University Genetic Counseling Training Program and is excited to experience everything that Atlanta has to offer and pursue her dreams of becoming a genetic counselor. She is also more than happy to answer any questions that prospective students may have.
