
Levi Thompson grew up in Lawrenceville, GA. He completed his undergraduate degree in Cell Biology and Biotechnology at Georgia Gwinnett College. During that time, he was involved in research with antibiotic alternative treatments and DNA transformation.
He also worked as a patient care technician at Northside Hospital on the acute care team. Through this experience, he cultivated a deeper sense of empathy and understanding for individuals facing a wide range of various health challenges. Additionally, he volunteered as a teaching assistant in a college genetics classroom where he tutored students, conducted lessons on genetic testing, and introduced additional students to the field of genetic counseling. After graduating, Levi volunteered at Emory in the Research and Clinical Trials Center, where he participated in current open studies with lysosomal and peroxisomal storage diseases.
In his free time, he enjoys making macramé projects and performing aerial circus arts. Levi is passionate about diversity, equity, inclusion, and LGBTQIA+ matters. He looks forward to incorporating these values into his professional endeavors.
