Our faculty consist of clinical and basic science investigators who conduct a broad range of basic, translational and clinical research on a variety of human malignancies. Through novel discoveries, we are leading the way to a better understanding and improved detection and treatment of cancer.

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program offered by Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University provides clinical and research training in hematology and medical oncology.

Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is Georgia's only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and serves as the coordinating center for cancer research, education and care throughout Emory University.

Upcoming Symposium

The Debates and Didactics in Hematology and Oncology Conference (DDHO) features a comprehensive review into mechanisms of disease and treatments for patients with cancer or blood disorders. Celebrating 25 years! The 2025 conference will be held July 24-27 at Sea Island, Georgia. Registration is open.

Emory Johns Creek Hospital showcases new ION non-surgical robot used in the detection of lung cancer Oct. 7, 2025

Emory Johns Creek Hospital recently held a “test-drive” event for its newest non-surgical robot, called ION. The ION bronchoscopy system by Intuitive uses minimally invasive fiberoptic technology to allow providers to biopsy lung nodules that may be suspicious for lung cancer.
