Dr Arthur Yancey Receives Lifetime Service & Leadership Award

Arthur H. Yancey II, MD, MPH was honored with the 2019 Lifetime Service & Leadership Award. The citation read in part, "For 25 years, Dr. Yancey has provided leadership and has served the Emory University School of Medicine and the broader community with great distinction.... He is a nationally recognized leader in emergency medical dispatch, developing guidelines implemented internationally.... Regionally and locally, [he serves] as the Medical Director for the City of Atlanta's 911 emergency medical dispatch program, Fulton County 911, the Fulton County Department of Public Health Office of Emergency Medical Services, and the County's emergency medical first responders."
Dr Tammie Quest Receives Distinguished Service Award

Tammie Quest, MD, was recognized with the Distinguished Service Award for her "unwavering commitment to building Hospice and Palliative Medicine in the School of Medicine and Woodruff Health Sciences Center. She is a pioneer in this field and has made Emory a showcase for how palliative care should be provided in the US."
Dan Wood, MD, Is Hidden Gem

Emory Emergency Medicine faculty member Daniel Wood was recently recognized as an Emory School of Medicine "Hidden Gem." Hidden Gems are School of Medicine faculty members nominated by their departments in recognition of their outstanding, but often unnoticed or unrecognized, contributions to Emory or beyond.
"Dan is an extraordinary physician who provides outstanding clinical care to all our patients at Emory University Hospital at Midtown (EUHM)," stated David Wright, Interim Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. "He has also taken up the mantle of leadership in a very chaotic time in our practice. Where others may have floundered, Dan has excelled to become the leader we all knew he would become. Dan serves as our Medical Director for the EUHM emergency department, leading a group of over 40 physicians and advanced practice providers in one of our most challenging clinical environments.”

Bijal Shah, MD, Wins Dean's Teaching Award

Emory Emergency Medicine faculty member Bijal Shah, MD was awarded the School of Medicine's Dean Teaching Award.

Dr. Terri Pruitt, MD, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, was recognized for her work in the Emergency Care Clinic of Grady Memorial Hospital.
